On 2 March 2017, Delft’s Entrepreneurship Day took place in the Aula of the TU Delft. The goal of this event was to facilitate a low-threshold opportunity to enthusiasm students at the TU Delft for entrepreneurship. The day consisted of three phases: The ‘Startup Playground’, the Symposium and in the end a drink.
The day started with the ‘Startup Playground’, where twelve talented startups and technology companies showed the visitors their technology. This ‘Startup Playground’ was intended to make entrepreneurship touchable.
The ‘Startup Playground’ was followed by the Symposium, which was opened by Pep Rosenfeld a comedian. After this opening, Ferdinand Grapperhaus, CEO of Physee, told an anecdote about his inventions and startup that creates energy-generating glass. In doing so he went deeper into the fun but also the challenging sides of entrepreneurship.
The centerpiece of the symposium consisted of a Pitch Battle where 5 startups were given the opportunity to hold a pitch for a jury. The strongest pitch proved to be MOMO Medical. The symposium was closed by Dhiraj Mukherjee, Co-Founder of Shazam, who spoke about the difficult start of Shazam and the enormous growth that it had afterwards. The day was closed with a drink. This link will lead to the after movie.
The Delft University Fund has assisted Yes Delft students financially with the realization of this event.
